Monument of the Singing Sound Storm

NIAD Virtual Gallery

curated by Léonie Guyer

A pen and marker drawing done on both sides of white paper. The image represents the interior of a bus with rows of seats, window curtains, and a square windshield in top center.

About the Exhibition

In the treasure trove of works by NIAD artists, one encounters a myriad of astonishing creations—art that arises from an inner imperative. This is where meaning is found, even—perhaps especially—while eluding “the butterfly net of language”.

In these works, palpable energies are called in. They have a force akin to the pouring forth of a flamenco singer.
