As brilliantly stated by disability rights activist, Alice Wong:
“The real gift any person can give is a web of connective tissue.”
Convergence is an exhibition that examines the ways in which ideas cross-pollinate in the NIAD Art Center studios.
Featuring artworks by 45 NIAD staff members and NIAD studio artists, this exhibition includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, performance, and sound art. In this exhibition, we observe how ideas form and expand from deep relationships and creative osmosis.
This exhibition investigates the relationships and creative affinities that develop through the subtleties of daily conversations and keen observations in the studio.
Each member of this creative community holds a special talent in art-making as well as caregiving. This exhibition honors the labor and dedication of staff, which nurtures the creative growth of the beloved NIAD artists.
Convergence is a testament to the mutual support and inspiration that binds up NIAD into an ever-growing, ever-changing creative community.
