Christopher Jimenez-Lopez

Christopher works on his drawings with a striking sense of color and easily recognizable use of marks. He is a great collector of images and translates them into his own style.

Christopher Jimenez-Lopez (b. 1997) is a Bay Area artist who joined NIAD Art Center in 2022. Over the years, he has developed a strong drawing practice, primarily working with paint pens and fine markers on large paper, canvas, and shaped wood surfaces. Inspired by the characters and storylines from manga, Jimenez-Lopez has built his own vocabulary of potent symbols. Many images feature his signature stars, beating hearts, and helmets, each textured with brightly colored hatch marks.

Jimenez-Lopez’s work was featured in Now Presenting in the Main Gallery at NIAD, and selected for Separating Sand and Afterimage as part of NIAD’s virtual exhibition program.

Christopher Jimenez-Lopez's artist statement is currently being developed.
