Art Marketing and Partnerships Director

Position Listing Statement

NIAD Art Center is a Richmond, California nonprofit that collaborates with our community of adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) with the goals of exemplifying artistic relevance and cultural inclusivity. As a progressive art studio, we deliver these aims through our administrative activities as well as through the three main programs we offer: Studio (Virtual and 23rd Street), Art Marketing, and Community.

NIAD’s Art Marketing and Partnerships Program drives audience reach, reputation and revenue: developing and diversifying audiences; building brand visibility; creating an outstanding audience experience; and generating income for NIAD.

The Art Marketing and Partnerships Director works closely with the Executive Director and Development Director, and manages the collaborative work of the Art Marketing Team.  This is an opportunity to participate in building a collaborative, inclusive, and responsive team for a leading arts disability organization with a highly regarded reputation, working with the most compelling content, in a time of great opportunity.

One of the objectives for this position is to support NIAD’s continued growth and expansion. As the organization realizes the vision of our artists and wider community, our Art Marketing Team ensures this vision impacts inclusion and accessibility in the art world, and that the art market supports NIAD and studio artists. As such, we want to ensure representation of the communities that we serve, both in terms of diversity within our teams, and in generating engagement and involvement from people who have been historically under-represented, including new staff.

NIAD supports inclusivity and visibility in all areas of our working practices and spaces, and we want to ensure that opportunities are accessible in all ways and that all voices are truly heard and contribute to our future. We actively encourage individuals from marginalized groups to apply, in particular those from traditionally under-represented groups, such as people with disabilities, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ candidates.

NIAD acknowledges the importance of flexibility for hybrid work. While this position is primarily on-site and in person, we would encourage any future staff members to be transparent in their communication about questions and needs for remote or on-site work.

If you require any accommodations in order to most effectively participate in the application process, please contact Ingrid Alonso-Rodriguez, admin@niadart.org, or 510 620 0290.

To apply for this position, please direct your cover letter, one-page writing sample, and CV/resume to admin@niadart.org.
