Together We Can Protect Medicaid!

We believe in the power of art, community, and advocacy.
As studios that support artists with disabilities, we know firsthand how vital Medicaid is in ensuring access to essential services, healthcare, and long-term support. Congressional leaders are negotiating cuts to Medicaid, and they need to hear from you.
Your representatives work for YOU! We must make it clear to the elected officials who represent us why Medicaid matters to our communities and that they must stand with their constituents and defend Medicaid at every level.
For millions of people with disabilities, Medicaid is the difference between getting the care they need or going without. Medicaid provides critical services that help people live, age, and work with dignity.
Here’s What You Can Do:

#1
Contact your representatives!
- Call the Medicaid hotline at 866-426-2631. Just enter your ZIP code and you'll be connected directly with your elected official.
- If you can't call, send an e-letter via go.caringacross.org/a/no-cuts-medicaid
Here's an example of what you could say:
"I'm writing/calling as a constituent and supporter of the Katz Organizations - Creative Growth, Creativity Explored, and NIAD Art Center - nonprofit art studios serving artists with disabilities in our community.
Artists at these organizations rely on Medicaid-funded services for daily support. That includes personal care, transportation, and community programs that allow them to live full, independent lives. These services are not luxuries - they are essential.
Cuts to Medicaid would directly jeopardize the well-being, creativity, and livelihood of people with disabilities - including the artists who make these organizations such vital cultural institutions in California and beyond.
Please protect Medicaid and stand with disabled artists and the communities that depend on these programs."
