The Latest From Our Executive Director//

The more things stay the same, the more we change.

In order to stay present with the lasting pandemic and this moment in the Movement for Black Lives, we’ve had to move in different ways, and grow.

NIAD’s exhibitions have become even more conversational – at tonight’s Thirsty Thursday event, we’re excited to bring together NIAD curators, studio artists, staff members, and friends to bring the latest NIAD Windows exhibition, Weaving Circle, to life.

NIAD’s community studio is also changing as we prepare to work in two ways simultaneously – Virtual and Onsite – as soon as it is safe.

In support of this, we’ve doubled our management capacity, promoting experienced staff onto NIAD’s Services Coordination Team.

We congratulate Shantanice Jones, Terri Moore, Nan Collymore, and Dawline-Jane Oni-Eseleh as they bring their deep understanding of NIAD to new positions of leadership.

More change is ahead – NIAD will soon convene a Quarterly Advisory Committee composed of community members, studio artists, and staff, to oversee our equity goals, and to better develop pathways to Board leadership at NIAD.

Interested? Give us a call. We’d love to hear what you’re dreaming.

In community,

Amanda Eicher, Executive Director
