"Freedom to Create" (1 videocassette)
The following three videotapes are concerned with painting. They were
funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. They
were produced by the National Institute of Art and Disabilities (NIAD),
under the direction of Florence Ludins-Katz, MA, and Elias Katz, PhD, in
1989:
- Set-up. Florence Ludins-Katz demonstrates setting up the painting
studio for persons with disabilities, including construction of easels. (15
minutes)
- Adaptations. Florence Ludins-Katz demonstrates a variety of easily
constructed low-cost adaptations to enable physically handicapped students
to paint. (15 minutes)
- The Art Studio. An overview of the creative art studio of the
National Institute of Art and Disabilities, Richmond, CA. Interactions
between several NIAD artists and their artist-teachers. Development in the
creative work of Sylvia Fragoso, NIAD Artist. (19 minutes)
